Tree Pruning

  January 14, 2008

From the office of The Grounds Keeper, Inc.   Greetings…

Each season it has been The Grounds Keeper tradition to recognize our customers and
extend our sincerest thanks for their loyalty. Our commitment to you remains strong
and constant as we strive to provide the best product and service possible. We are a
  company you can depend on!

Projects that are currently happening on the landscape maintenance accounts are:

   * Cleaning all debris from the beds in preparation of preemergence weed control to
help reduce the weeds in the spring.

   * Moss control for the lawn using a liquid application that will also give the lawn a
   deep dark green color.

   * Adjusting the pH using a granular calcium carbonate. This helps keep the nutrients
available to the lawn throughout the year.

Additional Projects we are scheduling with your approval are:

European Cranefly Control. This application takes care of the larvae that feed on the root system of the turf causing the thinning in February. If we treated your lawn last year we’ll treat again this year unless we hear otherwise.

Tree Pruning. We’re still in the middle of this for those of you that signed up in the fall. If you haven’t requested this service yet please call soon.

Dormant Application to the Trees and Shrubs. We’ll be doing the second application on dry days in February. This application of copper & oil helps kill wintered-over fungus spores and insect eggs.

Barkdusting Beds. Bark usually only lasts about 2 years. If it hasn’t been done in awhile this is a great way to make the property look like sping has arrived early. We also count on this as part of our weed control program.

Power Washing and Treating Concrete. A new service this year using a product to control Algae, Mold, Mildew and Moss! A commercial grade product that has 8 months minimum control.

     Spring lawn renovation projects:

Machine Seeding (Slice seeder). This machine lays seed in slices cut approximately 1” apart going two directions to establish new grass amongst an existing lawn. This can help cover bare areas from various types of stress such as frost, heat etc.

Aeration of the Lawn. I can’t stress how important this is for healthy turf. It relieves compaction, helps with drainage and gives the root system room to grow and obtain necessary oxygen. It needs to be done at least once per year.

Please check the projects you would like to schedule or need a quote on and mail back with your name on it. You can also call 360-576-4119.

Sincerely,
Todd Moser
